DOCTRINAL BELIEF
I believe that the Creator of the Universe, God Our Father in Heaven, sent down His only son (Jesus Christ; which was God Himself in flesh) through a virgin birth to live a blameless and perfect life. He was sent to be an example for the world to witness and then said, "it is finished", and sacrificed His own life on the cross for the sake of redemption for the world. He then defeated death, taking away its sting, when He rose to life on the 3rd day. Jesus, then ascended into Heaven to take His rightful place on the throne as King of Kings and Lord of All. Despite His departure from Earth and His ascension into Heaven, He left us His Holy Spirit to dwell within whoever chooses to receive it. Doing so will grant you access to communicate with the Father and Son and the power that lives in Him. All of it is at your use with the Bible written by man inspired by God to be your guide for all of life here on Earth and in Heaven. For it is said in His word that we are called to do even greater things; but that begins and ends with acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
MINISTRY STATEMENT
I have learned a lot during the past decade of ministry successes and mostly failures. First and foremost I do ministry to please God and not people. I am bold, direct, authentic, raw, vulnerable, real, and often times unfiltered in my approach to ministry. I don't see this as a gimmick, a political game, peoples eternity are at stake and we don't have much time to waste "playing church". My heart burns to be close to the Father's heart and in step with His steps, although I don't always get it right, I try my best and give everything I have. People are my passion. As you get to know me and hear my story, I carry a lot of brokenness that has been glued back together over the years of my life. When it comes to ministry, you attract what you are. This is why my audience has always been full of messy and hurting people. Broken people don't know they can be healed until they meet someone who has gone through that process. This is why I am grateful for the brokenness I carry. I have become a strong advocate for the down and out people, the ones who get overlooked, the far from God, the rough ones. My desire is not to have influence on stage but to let God use my life as a stage so He can have an impact in broken people's lives. I pursue people of all types, and especially the next generation, who is the NOW generation. I strive to be a reflection of God's love, passion, sacrifice, and pursuit towards them. Simply put, I exist to inspire people to live for Jesus through love, music, communication, creativity, relationships, excellence, and fun. I strive to be approachable and always accept people as they are. Don’t be fooled though, just because I accept you and love you, does not mean I will not challenge you to become better and call you higher.
I say all of this to say that my calling simply put is to make disciples. I just so happen to lead worship and preach messages on a platform a few hours out of my week. I firmly believe that as a son of God, as a messenger, I exist to exemplify the Characteristics of Jesus and the fruits of the Holy Spirit, which can be found all throughout the scriptures. In other words, I exist, not to exist, but to show that He exists by giving myself away and putting my life and heart into every opportunity that comes my way. As a husband, one day father, worship leader, pastor, songwriter, and creative my heart is to influence and equip both the local church and the global church through leadership strategies, songs, lyrics, communication, and relationship building. I also desire to see a shift in the creativity, culture, and community found in the majority local/global church by discipling and mentoring other aspiring leaders to pursue the heart of God rather than the hand of God. However, aside from the practical and deep things, I strongly believe that whatever God does through me on any platform, no matter the size or place is great; but it is just a mere fraction of the ministry He has called me too and entrusted me with. I realize that the fulfillment of this calling I bare starts and ends with what happens off the platform both in my everyday personal life, leading my family, and in the lives of others I cross paths with. My ministry is simple, no matter what I face I have come with a towel to serve and not to be served. This is more than a job, this is my purpose until my last day on Earth.
